Crewe Heritage Centre Miniature Railway

Progress in 2007.

The Canopy at Crewe Old Works as been improved a great deal by having a new roof put on it and has had a coat of paint, although it is needed again in Spring.

Forge End Signal box has had a coat of paint on the inside and outside. There’s only the crack in the window that needs to be sorted.

A New Station Masters hut has been put up at Crewe Old Works for staff use and next year will be used as a tuck shop for the Miniature Railway.

A New Station Shelter has been made for Midge Bridge Station for use for passengers.

Station Fences at Crewe Old Works and Midge Bridge Stations have been painted.

New Springs have been put on Norcliff (Petrol Engine). 

Progress in January 2008.

Norcliff as had a repaint and now is in BR Blue Livery instead of Green.

New Signs Including Speed Restrictions etc have been put up on the railway.

New Batteries have been placed in Vulcan and is now in full working order for use with passengers.

All the coaches have been sanded down and have been painted in  br blue, white and grey like the full size mk 1 sets.

New Coloured Lights have been installed at the end of Platform 1 &
2 at Crewe Old Works Kindly made by Mike Bloor in putting effort into making them.

Station Masters hut at Crewe Old Works has been painted in Marroon and White.

A big tidy up has been made at Forge End, Bushes have been cut down etc. This Year we are to improve Forge End a great deal by constructing a canopy (like at Crewe Old Works) and decorating the station area with plants etc.

Track work is being started and forge end.
The flower bed is done out side carriage shed.
Hanging baskets now up at Midge Bridge and Crewe Old Works.
